On October 6th, indie-pop artist Scott Lippitt is releasing “Scene-by-Scene” - the second single leading up to an EP release this Fall. "Scene-by-Scene" takes listeners into an introspective yet catchy world of synths, drum machines, soft vocals, and comfortable pillows of acoustic guitar panned in each ear. Reminiscent of an impossible but would-be-awesome Beach House x Elliott Smith collab, this song strikes a warm chord. Speaking of warmth, Scott included some nice tape saturation and toasty production to serve this one up right. Here’s what Scott had to say about his new single:
Ever since Beach House released Bloom in 2012, I’ve been so attracted to arpegiatted, soft, and reverb-y synths. This is the first time I’ve explored creating those sounds for myself. Around the 1:30 mark, I bring in the ascending/descending synth, and I think it carries the rest of the song. I wanted to make a song you could “swim in”, with lots of spaciousness and sounds to tune into. Take a dive and see if you like it!
“Packed in a Minute” is streaming everywhere October 6th.
Scott Lippitt is an independent, self-managed artist.
